I am going to be a hypocrite about today's topic, but it won't make it any more wrong. Sleep is essential to everyone's health. Without it, sadly, we will be dead or zombies whichever comes first. Around 7-8 hours for teens to get them well-rested and ready for the next day. Around 8-9 hours of sleep for younger children to get them well-rested and healthy. Also, about 7 hours for full-grown adults to get them aware and competent to go for the next day. All of this information is according to get sleep. If you get the recommended amount of sleep every day, your body will develop correctly. It will help you grow, increase memory, and last and most important, it heals your body. When your mind is asleep, your body is still awake and fixing everything wrong. Your cells will attack any bacteria or repair anything that is broken or bruise.

I get around 4 hours of sleep every night, and I usually feel like shit the next day. This is probably the same reason why I am so short. Its probably not, but I like to tell myself this. Getting a good night's sleep is scientifically proven to help you live longer. Getting a good night's rest will help you consume fewer calories and make you energetic throughout your day. The reason behind this is because if you are already fully rested, you do not need extra calories to keep your body functioning. Without the extra calories, your body can use excess fat to burn off. It can also help with emotional problems like depression or social interaction. Sleep loss reduces your ability to interact socially. One study has found that people without enough sleep are unable to recognize expressions of anger and happiness.
Lack of sleep can also cause your body to get inflammation; the theory behind this is sleep loss is known to activate undesirable markers of inflammation and cell damage. Small loss of sleep has been shown to impair immune function. A study was made to see the people who were more likely to get sick. The people that slept less than the recommend amount got sick three times more often than the others. Poor sleepers also have a higher risk of getting heart disease or stroke. Another study was shown that people that barley gets any sleep are more familiar with these types of conditions than other people.

The last thing is that getting too much sleep is not a good thing. Too much of anything will find a way to harm your body. The same goes for sleeping. If you sleep too much you are at risk for a lot of diseases like depression, low blood levels, and even calcium build-up to the heart. Your best bet of sleep is anywhere from 7-8 hours per night. If you follow this recommended amount of sleep your just one step less away from becoming the perfect you.
Let's all be good people and try to save our bodies and have a good night's sleep. Just because I don't does not mean you should not.

I also feel that sleeping is very important. We need to sleep to grow and rest our bodies. Most people can't get an adequate amount of sleep due to either their work schedule or school causing them to stay up late to finish homework or to study. I think it would be a good idea to push back the start time of school.
I agree with your point that sleeping is a very important thing that everyone should try their hardest to accomplish, however, I feel like it is hard for everyone to get an adequate amount of sleep. Some people have schedules that physically do not allow them to get the right amount of sleeps. Most people get enough sleep if they have open schedules, but most people in our society do not.
Sleep sounds very important. It sounds like most people don't get enough sleep to grow properly. Maybe if we all focused on getting the right amount of sleep every night we would be better off as a society. Imagine what we could do if everyone was well rested and had grown properly. Perhaps society should put more pressure into allowing people to sleep for the proper time?
